Links to Order an All-Metal Bow Compass
Every year, it saddens me to see families who wind up wasting money by buying a compass that fails and/or partially disintegrates in less than a month. It is important to have a high-quality compass for making accurate designs as well as for successfully drafting advanced, complex geometric constructions. Please make sure the compass you order has metal pins to house the metal threads of the radius-adjustment-wheel mechanism. The image at the bottom of this page shows an all-metal bow compass with metal pins. Please accept nothing less. Plastic pins will wear out much more quickly and this will adversely affect the accuracy of the compass. Specify that your compass must be all metal (as seen in the picture at your ordering link) and that you will not accept plastic pins.
